Welcome To Prestwick Country Club
Welcome to Prestwick Country Club, a gem of a golf course in Myrtle Beach, located in the heart of the Grand Strand. Designed by Pete and P.B. Dye, this par 72 layout is among the best course designs in the Southeast. Its rolling fairways, challenging bunkers and contoured greens make for a great round of golf.
Prestwick has the look and feel of a private club from the minute your drive through the guard gate and up to the bag drop. The inviting 2-story clubhouse greats you as you enter the property. Inside you will find a full service pro shop with a warm greeting from their friendly staff. Down the hall is the bar and restaurant area of the clubhouse. Grab a drink and snack on the way to the first tee and at the turn. Once the round is over come inside and enjoy a full lunch prepared by award-winning Executive Chef, Emory Morefield and his staff.
On the course, Prestwick provides a wonderful challenge of golf for players of any age and skill level. Six sets of tees allows the player to pick a comfortable yardage from which to play. The big boys need to be ready for a real challenge as the black tees stretch the course out to over 7000 yards!
From the very first tee box it will be apparent to the golfer that club selection will be the word of the day. No.1 is a short par four that requires a precision tee shot to set up the optimum approach to the long and narrow green guarded by two greenside bunkers. Welcome to Prestwick!
As the round progresses the golfers will experience a variety of shots on each hole. No.2 is possibly the toughest hole on the course. It requires a longer tee shot to carry a deep fairway bunker on the left side. Once that task is accomplished an elevated green with trees to its right awaits the approach shot. Better take can extra club.
Prestwick takes the golfer on a journey on each hole as no two holes are alike. There are long holes with wide fairways. There are shorter holes that require placement as opposed to length. The par 5s are some of the best on the beach. The par 3s are some of the most challenging.
Bragging rights for the best holes that come back to the clubhouse at the end of each nine goes to Prestwick. The 9th hole is one of the best par 5s you will play anywhere. The lake runs the length of the hole on the left side. Mounds and bunkers line the right side. The green is surrounded by pot bunkers and water.
The par 4 18th hole is equally as breathtaking as its counterpart on the other side of the lake. The right side of the hole is water. The left side of the fairway is filled with rolling mounds and the green side has bunkers. A long drive and well placed approach will do just fine here. What a great way to finish a round of golf. Welcome to Prestwick Country Club!
