Jay Smith Hits The Longest Golf Shot Ever Recorded
Prestwick Country Club Head PGA Professional and Coastal Carolina University alumnus, Jay Smith put all his skills to work this week to show off (Sister Company) Ocean Lakes Family Campground’s new giant water slide. His first attempt to hit a ball from the top of the water slide into the ocean some 275 yards away came up a little short. Jay’s next shot was an attempt to hit a ball in the opposite direction onto the the Prestwick Country Club 18th green. “Looks like” he made it. Perhaps his most impressive feat was to complete these two shots and the first ever putt down a water slide without falling down the slide. Nice work, Jay!
Ocean Lakes Family Campground Wins Prestigious Award
Both, Prestwick Country Club and Ocean Lakes Family Campground are subsidiaries of The Jackson Companies. The two facilities are just a few hundred yards apart and make a great beach entertainment combo. Ocean Lakes was recently named the “2017 Mega Park of the Year” by the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (arvc). Today there are 859 campsites and 2560 annual lease sites on 310 oceanfront acres with nearly one mile of gorgeous beach. It is one of the largest campgrounds int he United States and the largest on the east coast.
