We love hearing from our guests here at Prestwick Country Club. The feedback helps PGA Head Professional, Jay Smith and his staff. They use the information to keep their customer service and the golf course at the high level that local and visit golfers alike have come to know and expect when they arrive at the course. Let’s take a look at some of the comments we have received from golfers.
“This is a great course with lots of challenging holes but opportunities to score. It has holes that are pretty open and others that are narrow. Staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy having you on the course. Recommend this course as a must for those traveling to Myrtle Beach for golf” said J.C.
Mark said “This is a very challenging course, your must pick correct tees or you will have a long tough day. Layout will take you through your bag with most all of your clubs, several par 4’s over 400 yards from the white tees! Rough is penal in many areas around course, driving it in the fairways will serve you well. Pace of play was very good, less than 4 hours.”
“Prestwick is a Dye special. There is plenty of trouble around the greens. The course offers many different sets of tee’s” said Will. “Prestwick is a challenging course, but when it dry’s out it can be one of the toughest courses in the area. A top 5 pick on the grand strand.”
“Another top shelf course” remarked Miller. “I was surprised with the difficulty of the design, particularly around the greens. Green complexes are very challenging if you don’t hit proper approaches. The greenside grass and sand bunkers can toughl. Pete Dye is a genius, though sadistic, course architect. Fairways rate an 8, greens an 8 rolling at probably a 8.5 on stimp. I say this is a must play.”
Jason stated “Have played Prestwick multiple times thru the years. Prestwick never disappoints. Probably one of the most playable Dye courses I have ever played.”
With comments like these it is easy to see why Prestwick continues to be a favorite among golfer when playing in the Myrtle Beach area. That fact is why we work so hard to keep the golf course in the best possible playing conditions year round and why the golf shop and bar and grill staff keep their top shelf customer service going day after day. Now is a great time to play Prestwick so call and make a tee time today!
We played Prestwick last Sunday. Could you explain more about the greens. We were told in is a form of Bermuda called Tiff Eagle and are the same as Wachesaw east greens. Hoe are they so much different (faster) and better. Probably the best greens in MB. Thanks
